Description Warranty

Designed, produced, and assembled in the U.S.A. Tough enough to withstand the harshest environments. Each fastpak is built with the highest quality materials to ensure long-lasting durability.

  • Naked weight: 1.34 oz. (38 g)
  • Overall length: 6.5"
  • Blade length: 2.75"
  • Material: 60 RC Elmax
  • Pull-the-dot snap belt loop OR neck knife
  • Your choice of sheath (solid color: 21g / camo: 27g)
Note: The 'neck knife' sheath is very similar to the belt loop sheath. It is offered as an option due to the increased retention when the belt loop is added. The neck sheath has equal or slightly greater retention even without the belt loop. We do not recommend removing the belt loop to use as a neck knife as this may cause weak retention.

I love this one May 28, 2019

I have to give credit, as one Tom to another, to the superb customer service from Rainier Knives. They didn’t advertise as shipping to my country: I sent them a request and they responded within a couple of hours with an updated website that gave me the option. Full marks.

I ordered the sabre grind with wrap (I’m lazy)

I have been eying this knife for a while now, it is the perfect backpacking companion. It has a permanent spot on my pack. The Elmax steel is 2nd to none. I absolutely love it.

This is the best knife I have ever seen.  The quality and workmanship is exquisite.  I bought it for a gift and nearly kept it because it was so awesome.  Getting one for myself next.

An excellent ultralight backpacking knife. October 16, 2018
Reviewer: Daniel from Maryland, United States
I wrapped my own handle, added a second belt loop, and the whole package weighs in at 2.2 ounces. The knife's main competition is the backpacker from WRK made of cpm-s35vn. The fastpak’s handle was more precisely milled and has a smaller blade geometry -- making it lighter than the backpacker. Elmax is a stainless steel and will show better edge retention compared to cpm-s35vn and 1095 carbon steel, but it may not be as tough. I've used the fastpak on two trips -- once while camping in a salty environment at the beach and the other while backpacking through the rain. The knife shows no rust after being strapped to the outside of my pack. I chose the sabre grind for toughness and used it to make kindling and baton small pieces of wet wood for a fire. It still has the factory edge and is still hair-shaving sharp (actually tested it on my arm hair). I strongly recommend a paracord wrap for safety reasons. The lightweight sheath has excellent retention and a lip for thumb placement.
